Who is the Rehab gym for?
The gym is another way that we have improved the services that we can offer to our patients at SSPC. The gym is for all SSPC patients who need extensive rehab exercises to return to 100% health. You are now able to get a program designed and monitored by a physiotherapist specific to your needs. Our rehab gym saves paying high prices for a gym membership at a big chain and receiving exercises that don’t particularly suit your specific requirements.

Can I use the gym as part of a physio session without buying a membership?
Yes. A session involving physiotherapy and then a rehab session
in the gym working on exercises designed by your physiotherapist
costs $62.
Are non-patients able to come off the street and use the gym on a casual basis or buy a membership?
No.
The rehab gym is specifically for SSPC patients. Anyone wanting to use the gym would require a prior appointment to see a physio and have a gym assessment to work out his or her specific requirements.
What supervision is there when I am in the gym?
Your program is written and demonstrated by a physiotherapist and then any physio or personal trainer in the gym will be available to help you out if you have questions. The rehab area is not always supervised so you will often complete your session unsupervised, however there are ALWAYS physiotherapists in the immediately adjacent treatment areas who can answer any queries or questions you have. If in doubt you should always drop down to the reception desk and ask for assistance.

Can I claim on my extras for Private Health insurance?
If you are using the gym for rehab in the treatment of an injury then you may claim but it will contribute to the overall excess that your health fund permits each year. Ask reception for further information.
