What is Podiatry?

Podiatry specialises in the diagnosis, management and prevention of foot disorders and injuries associated with foot and lower limb.   Our Podiatrist – Rick Osler, has a strong background & interest in biomechanics, and employs a variety of tools to assess foot and lower limb posture, including video assessment and functional testing.

Podiatrists are now commonplace with all sports teams, foot health in the workplace and clubs.  Working in elite sport ensures the Podiatrist is abreast of the latest research and treatment modalities – creating the best skillset from the simplest of foot & leg pain to the more complex, and facilitating first class communication between the various Medical & Allied Health practitioners that you may be seeing.

As the founder of a specialty footwear chain, Rick brings specialty footwear assessment and prescription skills, as well as modifications to kids, sporting and daily footwear as required.  In conjunction with working for St Kilda FC (AFL), Melbourne Rebels (ARU) and a personal background in Ironman triathlon, he is well placed to understand the needs to return to sport as quickly as possible.
